Opportunity Leaders training will equip principals to use data from College Board assessments to drive decision-making in their school, specifically by including more students in AP courses and offering a wider range of AP options.

Included in this training will be an overview of the new teacher and student supports for AP that will launch in 2019.  Drawing on the College Board’s experience, content will include:

  • Use of PSAT and SAT data to inform instruction and college preparation
  • Connection between advanced coursework in high school and success in college and career
  • Identification of students with potential to perform well in AP classes, based on PSAT data
  • Expansion of AP courses and implications to scheduling, staffing and budget
  • Communications and engagement with teachers, families and students

After the Opportunity Leaders training, principals will be better-positioned to use PSAT and SAT data to drive decision-making, increase the number of students who access AP courses and plan supports to ensure student success.
